The day for the parade dawned sunny and bright.
The entires presented quite a sight.
Here's a mini-donkey in reindeer ears and a cart,
This palomino Gypsy won my heart.
Here's a pretty landau pulled by a team; black and white,
While the big teddy bear waves to the left and the right.
Here comes Boomer from Moondance Ranch,
And a Rocky Mountain stallion wearing pants!
Town dignitaries prepare to wave to the crowd,
Doesn't the 'Teddy Bear' driver look very proud?
The mini is small and the doggie is tall,
This tiny team made the crowd go, "Awwww!"
The town's mounted police put on quite a show,
And I'm there, on the left, telling groups when to go.
Beary, Merry Christmas from my town to you all,
I'm glad I could share some of the sights that I saw.
Love it- cute poem and photos! Looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteNeato. My farrier was telling me that he had to go trim some minis that were about knee-high. I thought he was exaggerating, but I guess they do come that small. He pulled out a coffee can and said he was going to try using that to prop up their hooves.
ReplyDeleteThe minis brought an awwwww from me as well. That Gypsy so totally WOW
ReplyDeleteThat was wonderful - I loved the "pants" - your town knows how to do a PARADE!
ReplyDeleteThat was my kind of parade! Beautiful critters...all of them. I did not realize that you were near Moondance Ranch.
ReplyDeleteDear Cynthia,
ReplyDeleteI so liked the pictures of the parade and your accompanying poem! What a delight.
Thank you so much for ordering Dulcy's trade paperback as well as her e-book. I hope you will like her poems as much as I liked yours.
Peace.
Obviously a very "horsey" town. Were your "boys" in the parade?

Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI like the little donkey with the glittery hooves.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful, homey, type of small town to live in or near. Looks like a good place to be to form up a helpful community when TSHTF!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful parade! The sweet donkey is great. I've never seen a palamino gypsy, very pretty. That Boomer is one handsome fellow. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletethis was so cute! Wish I could have been there to see it in person but your little poem about it is darling! Loved all the participants, but I'm dying over that palamino Gypsy. I had no idea they came in that color. As if I didn't the fever wasn't bad enough, I think it just went up a degree or two!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat parade! That would have been fun to see!
ReplyDeleteWhat a parade! And doesn't Boomer look so proud!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great parade. Everyone and Everyhorsey looks full of festive good cheer. And what a beautiful day with that goregeous blue sky as the backdrop. Thanks for sharing the photos.
