My Day Off!

Woohoo! I had a day 'off' yesterday! I didn't go to the project house - no tiling; no painting; no ripping out carpet; no planting trees; no... nothing!

Instead.....
  • I got out the sprinkler and watered some of our grass - hoping to wake it up and say, "it's spring. Time to rise up and grow and turn green!"
  • I watered most of the trees in the front yard.
  • I read and commented on blogs
  • I took a few extra minutes to sweep the barn.
  • I filled the water trough.
  • I watered my seedlings in the basement.
  • I brought a bed frame up from the barn and set my son's bed up - when he's visited the poor boy has been sleeping on his mattress on the floor. We have his antique bed but decided since we hope to move fairly soon there was no sense in setting it up.
  • I did a load of dishes in the dishwasher - yeah, I know, that isn't really anything special, but I did have to get down on my hands and knees and search through the junk in the cabinet to find a packet of dishwasher detergent that I knew was there. We forgot to get a new box the last time we were at the store.
  • I had my semi-annual mammogram. Here's a link to my post from last year. Basically this trip was a repeat of that one and all is well. I am now back to an annual schedule.
  • I went to the paper store to get some handmade paper for card making. They didn't have what I wanted because the factory burned down some time last year!!
  • I stopped by a kitchen design shop to look at cabinet knobs. Oh yeah, right, of course the ones that I liked are $13.85 EACH!! Hmmm, guess I'll have to look some more!
  • I resisted the urge to turn my car into a craft store's parking lot. That would have gotten me in a lot of trouble.... I can never just 'look'!
  • I ran over to the neighbors to replace the baking powder I borrowed. I gave them a bottle of my beer bread as a 'Thank You'. Of course, we had to chat a bit!
  • I worked both boys in the round pen. They are so out of shape - they need lots and lots of trotting. They both did really well. We worked a lot on transitions - using voice - from walk to trot, trot to extended trot, back to an 'easy' trot. I love my boys!
Hmmm...other than usual stuff - that's about all I did with my day 'off'! Oh, and I guess I should tell you I fell into bed around 9:00 PM!

  2. Tee hee, I think you now need a day off to recuperate from your day off. You are one busy lady!

  3. In answer to your comment, about dogs getting bitten by snakes: they learn quickly and move fast out of the snakes' way.

  4. You are just too damn productive --- even on your days off. Perhaps you need some time here in the S-L-O-W C-O-U-N-T-R-Y, where we have mastered the art if relaxing!

  5. I like "Once Upon an Equine's" comment - you need a day off from your day off!

  6. Day off? Sounds like you got many things done! And I too like the comment that you need a day off from your day off.

What is Four?

Have you ever thought of the meaning of "four"?  Four is the number of: seasons in a year. corners and sides to a square. virtues....
