Today I get to spend all day with my horses! I signed up to take them to a de-spooking 'Tune-up" clinic sponsored by a local driving club. All of the work will be in hand. According to the flyer, the horses will be introduced to a variety of stimuli which will act as building blocks during the day. There is a task by task progression to clarify communication and build trust between horse and handler. If I get a minute and I'm not struggling with a whirling dervish on the end of the lead, I'll take pictures to post.
Oh, wait, this post is about what I've already learned! Here is my new learning for the week: I learned that washing a horse's tail when it is 45 degrees outside, which means the water is probably equally as cold, is hand-numbing, arthrtis-inducing torture!
I tried to clean Doc up in the few minutes I had yesterday morning. It was awful! His tail does look a bit better, but I was so miserable, Pippin will just have to go with a dirty tail!!
Life is a highway.... I am living a dream as I travel and explore our world. What will I find around the next corner?
