Home Again

Here I sit....  in my living room. The scenery is quite different to that I awoke to yesterday. It is amazing how air travel can magically whisk you from one place to another.... so very different.

But, that 'whisking' isn't all that magical, really.....

• The alarm clock rang at 6:30 AM for a 7:15 AM departure....
• A lovely 45 minute drive to the airport - in the rain.
• (Oh, so lucky we didn't have to take the trains and the bus!)
• 18 minutes to get through security (and just why did we need 2 1/2 hours?!)
• 2 1/2 hours to wait.
• waiting in line to board.
• 78 minute flight to second airport.
• waiting to get off the plane.
• 45 minute wait.
• waiting in line to board.
• 9 hours 38 minutes to fly across the ocean.
• waiting to get off the plane.
• 45 minutes in customs.
• 15 minutes in line for luggage problems.
• 35 minute wait for final plane.
• waiting in line to board.
• 3 hours 25 minutes (plus an additional 35 minutes) for last flight.
• waiting to get off the plane.
• 20 minutes waiting for luggage ...
• and filing a claim for a lost suitcase
• 24 minutes waiting for our friend
• 38 minutes to home. 

All in all... 25 hours and a bit of travel time. Not exactly "whisking"!

So, when do you think time travel will be a reality?!
