Missing Winter

Mother Nature, in honor of Mother's Day, decided to give me a snow storm... just in case I had missed them while I was on my snowbird journey in the south this winter!

The snow began around 9 yesterday morning:

It has not stopped, yet.
This morning I have a beautiful winter wonderland surrounding me.

And, the snow continues to fall.
It is beautiful, but.... seriously?!
On May 12th?!

  1. I would seriously get in the trailer and head south.....or move!

    1. This is a bit unusual - we've had snow flurries in May before, but nothing like this.

  2. Isn't this an odd year for cold weather sticking around longer than usual? Of course, I'm grateful for it, but I feel for those in the higher elevations.

    1. I am thinking that at least we have had some excess moisture that will fill reservoirs and lakes. I just hope the spring melt doesn't cause flooding now.

  3. We may get some snow on Wednesday or Thursday...I bet the dogs had fun! :)

    1. Gypsy is a wimp. She doesn't particularly care for moisture of any kind. Tucker seems oblivious, except when he gets snow balls between his toes!

  4. It looks like you had more snow than we did. For once.

    1. The storm seemed to be centered around Denver. We probably had close to 12" fall, but a lot melted and now, it is melting very quickly! :))

  5. That truly is beautiful. Better you than me though. I had enough of winter this past year to last me a life time.

    1. It is beautiful - and I missed most snow storms. At least we know (think) that spring will be here in a day or so and this will be gone.

  6. Ouch! Please don't send it this way. Hopefully it will melt quickly.

    1. It was melting all along. The ground was so warm that the first few inches never stayed. Then a bit of sun yesterday afternoon did in a few more inches of the stuff. It will be gone soon - we have one more night predicted to be below freezing... then, maybe, we can have our spring back!
