Palais de Versailles

We had a tour of the Palais de Versailles. This edifice was built by Louis XIV and the seat of government moved here in 1682. The buildings are so large, it was hard to capture them with my camera! We had two tours. One of the private rooms of the King and his family, and the other of the public rooms. Join us on our tour!

It was hard for me to wrap my head around all of the opulence, and to imagine living with such grandeur all around, that many years ago. Wow!

  1. Dear Dreaming, yes "opulence" is the word. We all know what happened to Marie and her husband later when all this lavish living finally brought things to a revolution. But oh, such loveliness for us to see today. Peace.
