Perhaps the cure for my arthritis resides in the additives that Thomas uses in making English Muffins!
I think these have been in our drawer for at least two weeks.
There is not a spot of mold on any of them,
and they still feel soft and fresh.
Have I found the Fountain of Youth?
If I eat more of these, will those additives preserve me?
Scary.
I recently resolved to eat/serve fewer foods with additives.
I am trying to shop using the adage that if I can't pronounce it,
I don't want to eat it.
I notice when I buy bread at the bakery it grows mold in just about five days. I do like all the nooks and crannies and I suppose there is a recipe out there someplace. I don’t like additives either.
ReplyDeleteWell, here you go: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/6947/english-muffins/. Maybe I'll give it a try! (What a surprise...they are cooked on a griddle!)
DeleteOh...you were up really early. I hope everything is OK. I didn't sleep well, but despite being up just about every hour, I didn't linger on my bathroom trips - I simply went back to tossing and turning and trying to get comfy!
DeleteI make our bread and have for years. I try to buy food that is food. Have you read Ultra Processed People. It's very informative, not preaching. The scientist/author just gives information.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out the book. I used to make our bread...but I loved it so much, especially warm out of the oven, that I would slather it with butter and overly enjoy it. Hubby is an occasional bread eater - so I ended up eating most of it!
