Why?

This week for the Saturday Centus challenge, we are to ask a question of someone and include the words, "why oh why oh why". I went with the first thing that came into my head. A question that plagues me.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
I wonder God, just why oh why
Oh why do you let children die?
My friend lost her nephew when he was ten,
Bill lost Hanna and Mark lost Jen.
Josh went through chemo that took his hair.
He would laugh as he stuck Nerf darts up there.
These dear little children take it all in stride
While we suffer beside them keeping our grief inside.
If you know of a child who is sick in bed
Grant them good health. Can't you take me instead?

  1. I think we've all asked that question more than once.

  3. Hard to understand..nothing sadder. Good Friday a Dad was out in his sailboat with three of his children..they all had life jackets but the water was too cold when the sailboat was swamped with water and sunk..they were too far from shore to swim..Dad finally made it to shore.. The 2 and 6 year old died. The 8 year old is struggling for life..so very sad..I wondered to why?? Why..we will never know:(

  4. yes, this is something the world over, that is too big to answer I fear. But yet as I read your dear tearful words it made me think, if all was right with the world and everything and one in it, then would be ever know just how precious it is to reach out and touch people with love before it's too late?

  7. I think we've all known someone that we thought should have lived or not been stricken with some devastating disease. The why of things can never be answered to satisfaction. Life is just unfair sometimes and heartbreaking. Touching post.

  8. Such good questions. I guess we won't totally understand why some must leave this life at such early ages. Maybe to inspire the rest of us to live so we can see them again. Great post
