I've been trying to get back into the habit of walking*. It's good for me and it's good for the dogs. We also live in a great area for a neighborhood walk as we have many horseback riding trails within a half mile or less of our home, and the roads are very quiet. I put up this post about walking in the 'hood' in August.
Today we actually crossed paths with a horseback rider. I would have taken a picture of the beautiful (and very calm) palomino, but the timing was all wrong. We had just come to a fence with two large German Shepard type dogs, running up and down the fence, barking at us and at the horse. Add to that, my two Corgis were barking back at the dogs, as well as barking at the horse, and pulling a bit to try to get closer to the horse. The activity did not lend itself to my taking out my phone and capturing a picture! Maybe next time!
I played a few games of Mahjong online with my BFF. We catch a few games with each other almost daily. It's a fun way to chat, do some sort of mindless hand work, and play a game that we love!
Well, by jove, this is splendid! It's difficult for me to walk on our streets as they are gravel and there is very little flatness here. Corgis are soooo cute.
ReplyDeleteWe have slopes around us, not steep hills. The horse trails are sandy, especially at the entrance/exits. That’s sometimes a bit harder going. I agree about the Corgis!!
DeleteI'm thrilled you found an orthotic that is helping to make your feet feel better, and walking easier! You've accomplished a lot recently.
ReplyDeleteI am beyond excited about the diminished pain. Before the orthotics (even though I was using an orthotic recommended by another podiatrist) I often felt like my foot had been cut off and I was walking on the stump of my ankle. It was truly crippling. Hah! But do I remember which model of orthotic I bought? No! I want to get another pair so I don't need to move them from one pair of shoes to another...and the office, as I recall, had a better price than I could get anywhere else! I'll get another pair on my next visit.
DeleteAfter years of waiting tables in cheap tennis shoes, my feet are a mess. I have one brand of arch supports that I like, and order them often. I don't know what I'll do if they ever decide to quit making them!
DeleteYou have lots of projects going! Your quilt clock is ver pretty!
