Moving day finally arrived....as in, time to put my sewing room together. The long arm sewing machine pieces have been residing in the corner of the tack room in the barn. We brought them over to the house, and unloaded them.
Between the two of us we found another 8-10 cartons of craft supplies, and those came over to the new sewing room/studio, creation space, whatever I'm going to call it.
Wow! You worked hard and fast. You are going to spend a lot of time in this light and airy space.
ReplyDeleteMuch to my hubby's chagrin!
DeleteIt looks amazing and inspiring. Great to have all that room to spread out and create!
ReplyDeleteI am so lucky. At one point I had a 10' x 12' room for my sewing. Luckily I had other space for the overflow!
DeleteWow, what an amazing space you've created. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the long arm machine used for?
ReplyDeleteThe long arm is one way to assemble a quilt. The backing is rolled on one roll, the batting is placed on that, and the quilt top is put on top of the batting, and can also be put on a roll to keep in tensioned. The quilter (me) moves the machine around to stitch the layers together. Mine, at 10' in length, is not as large as they come - a friend of mine had one that was 14' long! Obviously, adequate space is required!
