Downtown

In February we moved between Crystal River and Beverly Hills, FL.

I haven't explored my new community, and I really ought to spend more time to do so.

The town is cute.
There are about two blocks of shops and restaurants.

The town was established around 1900 and there are a few
older buildings that remain. Sadly, this area is prone to flooding
during hurricanes. There are still a few businesses that are not open
following flooding from last year's hurricanes: Helene & Milton.

The 'Town Hall' was a WPA project and originally served
as the Fire & Police departments as well as the jail.
Currently it is The Coastal Heritage Museum.
(Google maps indicate that it is temporarily closed.)

I met my local sewing group, the Peacekeepers, for lunch at a
delightful café, bakery and boutique.
(Amy's on the Avenue)

I brought a special project with me.
Bonnie is working on it, on the right.

Terry helped roll my trimmed project so I could carry it home.

Neither "the Mister" nor I could use my right-handed scissors
to cut out the deer appliqué for the wall hanging I am making.
It's nice to have friends who are willing to help,
even while at lunch!
