It's Here!

If you play Mahjong, you know!

Each year the National Mah Jongg League sends out it's new card some time before April 1.
The card shows what hands players may use.
Hands are similar to rummy hands, for the uninitiated.
The cards are highly anticipated by players,
offering a welcome change in ways to complete a Mahjong.
The new cards also help to level the playing field for newer players
as no one is familiar with the selections, the choices are new for everyone.

Oh, and if you noticed that I have spelled Mahjong two different ways,
Mr. A-I-nstein tells me there are:
dozens of ways to spell the tile-based game due to it being a transliteration from Chinese. Common variations include Mah-JonggMahjonggMah-JongMah Jong, and Mahjong

  1. You learn something new every day (if you're paying attention, that is!).
My Grandma Hall had an incomplete Mahjong set with wood tiles that I played with as a child.

    Hugs!

  2. I don't know how to play any card game other than solitaire, which I think doesn't count!

    1. It is not as hard to learn as many of the games my kids play! It is taxing in that suddenly you are playing a game with three suits that you have never seen before, making 'hands' by arranging the tiles into special groupings shown on the cards. It is a great game for our brains, and does have a luck element as well. I would encourage anyone to try it, and stick with it a few times until you get the hang of it.
