I really enjoyed our Christmas breakfast with our neighbors. We had not met several of them, and even some of the folks attending didn't know others. My 'takeaway' from our event was that we need to have more social activities with our neighbors! One new friend said she'd have a Halloween party! We'll have to see where it goes from here.
The weather was perfect! We were able to open our 3-panel sliding glass door and most folks congregated on the lanai, or just inside at the dining room table.
We have almost recovered.
Most of the dishes are washed.
Most of those have found their way back to their cabinets or boxes.
Speaking of boxes; I picked up some "Chinese takeout" boxes at Hobby Lobby.
The one remaining (green) can be seen in the pile of dishes.
It was a super idea. Everyone seemed to love grabbing some leftovers and taking them home in their takeout boxes!
So, another of my 'takeaways' is that I should have containers when I have our annual breakfast next year!
It looks like everyone had a nice time. I don't want my neighbors to come over, I don't like them. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe takeout box idea is great, we usually just send home the plastic containers we use for leftovers, easily replaceable and not expensive.
I did not get enough cookies over the season, I think I need to do some baking.
LOL - bake away my dear! Oh, and Valentine's Day is that far off!
DeleteYour tablecloths and place mats are so pretty and the food looks really yummy! So glad you had a good turnout!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was rather pleased with how things looked, myself! I was a bit surprised, as this usually isn't my thing!
DeleteThis looks like such a nice time! I've lived here 32 years and have only one neighbor we interact with.
ReplyDeleteJust about every place we've lived our interactions with neighbors have been insignificant; saying, 'Hello' in passing for example. Maybe what I remember as a kid has changed.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful and it looks like such a great turnout! I literally just commented on your earlier post about buying take-out containers for guests. It helps us immensely with clean up and managing leftovers.
