I noticed a disturbance in my garden.
Upon closer inspection, it appears that we have an armadillo seeking refuge.
You can see the "tail drag" in the dirt - it was more defined before we had a good rain.
The hole only extends about 6 inches under the rock.
The armadillo hit a brick wall!
Well, it ran into the sturdy weed cloth that blankets the ground.
Go find another place for your home,
you are not welcome here!
I would love to actually see an armadillo!
ReplyDeleteOther than in a zoo, my meetings with armadillos in our area have only allowed me brief glimpses. They are very fast!
DeleteI bet the girls would bark at him!
ReplyDeleteI think you are right. Our Corgi girls like every excuse to bark! Our previous pup, Tucker, absolutely hated them and wanted to eat them up. Any time we saw when during our evening walks I had a difficult time controlling him!
DeleteWe visited Louisiana a long time ago. Hubby had family there, he'd been in the state four or five times. He promised me we'd see armadillos. We saw ONE. And it was dead next to the road. It's been more than 40 years ago and I still tease him from time to time. "Oh yeah? Well where are the armadillos you promised me? Huh?"
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! But, they are very furtive. We've been in Florida a good part of each year for 10 years, and other than the road kill, I've only seen occasional silhouettes of them in the flashlight as I'm walking the dogs.
